SHED Board’s Educational Institutions: Building Lives Through
Inclusive, Value-Based Education.
Introduction
SHED Board believes that education is the foundation of social development
and progress. Through a range of educational initiatives — from primary to
secondary
schools and specialized institutions for the visually impaired — the SHED
Board is working to empower children from all walks of life, especially
those from underprivileged, Indigenous, and marginalized communities. Here
is a structured look at the educational institutions managed by SHED Board.
Primary Education
Parbatipur Primary School: Parbatipur Primary School was
established with a vision to educate children from local Indigenous
communities.
Since Bengali is not their mother tongue, these children often struggle in
government schools. This institution provides a supportive, culturally
sensitive environment where students can learn effectively. Beyond
academics, students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular
activities to ensure their holistic development.
Carey Memorial Primary School (North Bengal): Founded in
2009, Carey Memorial Primary School serves children from backward and
underprivileged communities.
With a focus on promoting moral, social, and human values, this school
follows the government curriculum while also providing opportunities for
character development and community engagement.
SHED Board Mundumala Primary School (Tanore) :
Established in 2013 with the support of HMK-Donor Organization, Mundumala
Primary School offers inclusive education to
children from various social backgrounds. It focuses on building moral
character alongside academic excellence, helping students become responsible
citizens.
Junior Secondary Education:
Martin Luther Memorial Junior Secondary School (Khulna):
Inaugurated in 2022, this modern educational facility provides education
from KG to Class v.
Equipped with up-to-date educational tools and infrastructure, the school
offers a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. Like other
SHED Board schools, it emphasizes moral education, discipline, and human
values in addition to following the government curriculum. .
Secondary Education
Carey Memorial High School (Dinajpur): Carey Memorial High
School has a strong reputation for academic excellence combined with moral
and social education.
Many students from this institution continue their studies at higher
education levels. The school serves both Christian and non-Christian
students, providing quality education with special attention to
underprivileged and Indigenous children.

Carey Memorial High School, Martin Luther Memorial Junior High School, and Parbotipur Primary School
Approximately 650 children study in the Christian Mission School run by SHED Board. Apart from the excellent quality of teaching, children can also participate in various extracurricular activities. Parbatipur Primary School was established especially for children from local Indigenous people groups, because Bengali is not their mother tongue, they find it difficult to go directly to government schools. The schools are very well run, and many children get opportunities for higher education after completing their studies in this school.
Baptist Mission Integrated School (BMIS)
The Baptist Mission Integrated School (BMIS) was established in Mirpur, Dhaka, in 1977 for the education and rehabilitation of visually impaired girls. After completing the primary level, students get the opportunity for secondary education and advanced technical studies. Vocational training, such as computer training and various skill development activities are conducted for visually impaired girls so that they can become employable.
